Okay star riders, in case you haven't gotten your notice yet. All VStars - 1100 and 650 are being recalled. Seems the nut holding the passenger seat on may come loose causing the seat and/or passenger to fall off. Call your dealer to get it fixed - free of course! (unless you don't like your passenger

)

You beat me to it. I recently sold my cruiser and got the notice in yesterday. It doesn't say for what years but it's for all v-star classics, customs, and silverados. Going to take the letter to the people who bought ours today.

My 5th gear sounds like its clanking against something... like the teeth aren't lining up... It sounds pretty horrible in 5th but in no other gears. I am bringing it in the same time I get my recall fixed and have them check it out... I hope it's not too expensive.

I just bought a used 2000 model 650 custom? How would I know if this effects me and if it was fixed? Is there a site to check?

I doubt it was fixed already? Best to just stop by a Yamaha Dealer and have them check it for you?
